Natural Hair Recipes

Aloe Vera Leave-In 
Description:
Aloe Vera is great for restoring the pH balance of the hair and adding softness.
Ingredients:
4 oz water
4 oz aloe vera gel
10 drops of Essential Oil
Instructions:
Mix the water and aloe vera gel into a bottle with a spray bottle.  Add 10 drops of your favorite essential oil.  Use daily or as often as needed to restore softness to hair.




Avocado Deep Conditioner
Ingredients:
1 small avocado
1/2 cup of mayonnaise

Directions:

Peel the skin off of the avocado.  Remove the seed.  Mix mayonnaise and avocado into a creamy mixture.  (Make sure you blend thoroughly~NO CLUMPS) Apply to hair and let sit for 45 minutes (under hair dryer or place a shower cap on your head and wrap a towel around it for body heat).  Rinse mixture from your hair.  Continue with your regimen

Banana Hair Rejuvenation Mask

If brittle hair is driving you bananas, use the tropical fruit to moisturize your hair naturally with this at-home hair mask.

In a small bowl, mash a ripe banana (rich in B Vitamins and potassium)
1 Tbsp Honey
1/2 tsp Lavender essential oil
1/4 cup of pure Shea Butter
Mix until creamy Massage into wet hair and leave on for 10-15 minutes. R


Detangler/Leave-in Conditioner (inspired by Kim Love's Recipe)
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons ofV05 Moisture Milk Conditioner
2 tablespoons of Aloe Vera Gel
2 tablespoons of 100% Coconut Oil
2 tablespoons of Jojoba Oil
Directions:  I mix all of the products together into a creamy mixture. Once I have co-washed my hair, I saturate the hair with the mixture. Section the hair into 4 sections. Comb the hair from the tip up to the root in each section.


Hair Spray Mist (helps maintain moisture in my hair)
Ingredients:

5 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin
5 drops of rosewater
Directions: Mix all ingredients into a 8 oz water bottle.  Use as a spritzer for your hair


Oil Rinse
Ingredients:
1/4 cup coconut oil
Directions: Apply to wet hair. Pour the oil over your hair and cover your hair with a plastic bag. Sit your a heating cap for 30 minutes up to 1 hour. Rinse. I condition wash after

Moisturizing Protein Pack
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon honey
2 egg whites
Directions: Mix honey and egg whites together in a glass bowl. This mixture should be applied to wet hair. Apply with a pastry brush and comb through hair. Leave on hair for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water. Co-wash and style as usual.


Protein Treatment
Ingredients:
2 egg whites
1 1/2 cup of plain yogurt
Directions: Combine the ingredients together in a bowl. Pour the mixture on your hair and allow it to sit for 10 minutes. Rinse the mixture out with warm water until the water runs clear and co-wash with your favorite conditioner.


Tea Rinse
Ingredients:
2-4 tea bags of herbal tea
1/2 gallon of water
Directions: Using the herbal tea of your choice, place the tea bags in a large pot and allow them steep overnight in warm water. The kind of tea you use determines the color tone or deposits that you create for your hair. Remove the tea bags the next morning. Use the liquid to rinse your hair. Co-wash and style as usual. Tea acts as colorant naturally. Make sure you let the tea cool off before applying it to your hair. Using hot tea to rinse your hair may result in severe burns for your skin or scalp.
